Google is no stranger when it comes to competing with itself wheather its hangouts a low end deal or Google play music and Youtube , Google tv and chromecast , gmail and inbox and android and chrome OS . Now the last one is quite intriguing at a time where google's kind of integrating Android and Chrome OS bringing android apps over to chrome OS .
Google is working on a mysterious new operating system called Fuchsia that might one day replace both Android and Chrome. Their is another operating system being developed by google . this is fuchsia OS . We've heared about it back in september but at that time their wasn't even a GUI to talk about but now we got more information coming .
So first thing first whats sets you show is a partfrom android and chrome OS , well its not based on Linex . Its uses Google's own microkernal called megenta. Google documentation for megenta also states it's for modern phones and modern personal computerswith fast processor , non trivial amount of Ram with arbitrary peripherals doing open end computation . So what that means well that leads us to a question . If this might be a computation to Android and even may be a eventual successor
The apps are written using google's flutter SDK . flutter is a mobile SDK or software developement kit for building apps for both iOS and android from a single code base . Flatter apps are written on dart and are supposed to perform better than once on android that are mostly written on java . The system user interface for fuchsia is called armadillo and its looks to be a series of cards on top that represent apps and google's own cards aat the bottom . these are place holders here just a visual representation of how it might turn out to be . You can move the cards around tap on them to launch a full screen version of the App . Add them together to get multi-window as functions even as many as four wraps at once might be useful . At the center you get your profile picture . tapping on that showing your battery percent , WiFi and cellular information . You can adjust brightness and volume turn on the aeroplane mode, do not disturb, orientation controls kind like of quick setting . If you need the screen you can see the home button popup below everywhere else , tab anywhere and there you back to home screen
Either way given that the future project started somewhere in early 2016 . I'm going by the fact that android was in development for five years before it had consumer devices . May be 2019 or 2020 is when we would be good theoretically see a phone with Fuchsia OS on it . that is if it doesn't get scrapped .
